GARDEN OF BEING: SEEDS

A quarterly space to honour the current season you’re in, with the support of the season present in Nature.

On February 16, we will meet the ending of the Year of the Snake. So far, this has been a year of personal shedding (and ultimately collective), and spiritual release. A year of undying determination, and the embrace for all things new—albeit painfully difficult at times.

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, as we approach the final months of this Chinese Zodiac year, we also find ourselves in the depths of Winter. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this season is associated with the Water element. Just as we (nature) hibernate(s) in Winter, so Water is an element of gestation—like a seed resting in water, waiting for the conditions to grow. It’s an invitation to both be with what is and with what is arising within. Because as within, so without.

Water embodies an adaptability which we can all learn from: the capacity to yield, listen, and respond to its environment. In Winter, if we choose to consciously align with the season, we gather this wisdom inward, storing and exploring it in the body. As we approach the Year of the Horse, with its invitation toward adventure, action, dynamism and outward momentum, Water becomes an essential code to remember: how to move without force, to shapeshift when necessary, and how to act strategically and without depletion.

This 3-hour journey will include:

• a welcome circle
• tarot card journaling
• yin yoga

• somatic movement practice
• reflective journaling for integration
• (optional) sharing circle to process
• a closing water ritual to plant a seed
in the waters of the body in preparation for the new energetic year

MOTHER’S BLESSINGS

(with Nicola)

Also known as a “Blessingway”, this is a sacred ceremony in honour of the expecting mother’s journey through pregnancy and her rite of passage from maiden-mother, or mother-mother (if not her first time pregnant). It is inspired by a tradition originating in the Navajo Native American tribe, where the intentions are to invoke positive blessings unto the mother-to-be, as well as to intentionally reduce struggles for the rest of pregnancy, the birth, and postpartum period.

The ceremony can include a variety of practices, rituals and activities, such as meditation, introspection, embodied movement & breath, dancing, fear releasing, fire ceremony, red thread ritual, affirmation display making, letter writing, belly painting, art making, intentional beading, story sharing, singing and more. It is undoubtedly a beautiful space for energy to flow and for the mother to prepare emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually, for the birth, postpartum, and her new chapter of Motherhood.

If you’re interested but need someone to help facilitate the Blessing, Nicola is your person. Every detail will be covered - whether that’s a perfectly curated playlist for background music, to cleansing the space energetically, to flowers and candles to bring in the magic, to making sure the mama never feels uncomfortable (and a whole lot more!).

Nicola is a mother of two herself, so is very much in tune with the energetics of both the portal of birth and Motherhood. She harnesses her inner knowing based on her personal experiences for holding intentional and supportive space for the mother-to-be. Being made to feel held, safe, loved and seen is what it’s all about.

Nicola is based in Essex, but not limited to hosting Mother’s Blessings in this area only.

Should you be interested, Nicola will help you figure out what exactly you’d like to include in the ceremony based on the intentions and what practices/rituals resonate with you, creating a bespoke ceremony to match you perfectly.

Prices also range depending on what’s included and if venue hire is required (they can also be held in the comfort of your home). The approximate range is £300-£400.

Please feel free to reach out via email to hello@bodygardeners.com or by clicking on the button below which will direct you to a form and Nicola will get back to you as soon as possible 🤍
